Allora, ieri sera al concerto di Ian Hunter, il buon Faz non ha omaggiato del promo cd solo il vecchio Ian, ma molto gentilmente anche il sottoscritto, probabilmente per averci valutati più o meno della stessa età. Ho appena finito di ascoltarlo, e che dire, formidabile! Rispetto al primo (del secondo ho ascoltato troppo poco per farmene un'idea, ma rimedierò) l'ho trovato un po' meno classicamente Glam Rock settantiano, ma più ruvido, con qualche momento quasi più "Garage", inteso perlomento come un R'n'R grezzo e diretto, sempre però alla maniera dei Faz Waltz, ovvero con una cura straordinaria delle melodie vocali, ed una maturità compositiva e negli arrangiamenti che è ben difficilmente riscontrabile nelle band di casa nostra. Credo che Back on Mondo si candiderà a pieno titolo fra le migliori uscite di casa nostra del 2013, i numeri ci sono tutti. Veramente bravissimi. Ed ovviamente non mi accontento del cd promo masterizzato, ma appena è disponibile ESIGO la versione ufficiale, e già che ci siamo anche il lavoro precedente.
Ascoltatelo e fatelo vostro, credo che attualmente i Faz Waltz siano un patrimonio del R'n'R nazionale, e come tale da supportare e sostenere.. -

Starting with a STOOGES kind of beat, this new album from Italian band FAZ WALTZ takes them to new musical territories that bring garage rock (“Little Home”) and bands like The HIVES (“Fingers In My Brain”, “Baby Left Me”), or JET (“Get The Poison”) to mind.
The band also still have one foot in 70s glam rock (T.Rex especially) as “Looking For a Ghost” and “Leave Her Alone” display, and you’ll even get a bit of modern blues (“Cannonball Blues”.)
The production is really good, the melodies are great, the vocals and playing are solid, there’s energy and hooks, and when you think about it, there’s still an unoccupied space on a larger scale when it comes to this genre in music nowadays. So, after listening to “Back On Mondo”, there’s just one question that comes to mind: How come this band isn’t big yet?/Laurent C.. -
